GYAN Entrepreneurship Lab (GEL)

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, more than 40% of entrepreneurs in 35 of 50 countries agree or strongly agree that their motivations to launch a business is to make a difference in the world. GYAN observed this data first hand when, at the 2019 Global Youth Advancement Summit addressing Global Inequity, one third of the proposals submitted were for the entrepreneurship competition.

In response to this enthusiasm, GYAN is supporting and collaborating with members of its rapidly growing network on their business and social ventures. To provide a framework for this capacity development and joint project implementation, MSU established the GYAN Entrepreneurship Lab (GEL) which will support early stage entrepreneurs through an intensive summer session on MSU’s campus and online programming for a broader audience.

  • GEL Summer Course: In collaboration with the Office for Education Abroad and the Broad College of Business, GYAN is hosting a three-week hybrid summer program that will enhance the entrepreneurial capability of global impact makers. GEL’s goal is to foster global best practices in entrepreneurship and amplify impact.

  • GEL Business Enabler Sessions: The Enabler sessions are capacity development sessions designed to deliver content and tools to seed/early stage entrepreneurs with the intent of helping them improve the design, depth and resilience of their impact or entrepreneurial initiatives. The sessions are delivered virtually once per quarter and are open, free of charge, to all persons between the ages of 18 – 35.

  • GEL Expert Talks: The Expert Talks are experience and perspective sharing sessions led by established senior business professionals. They provide impact makers and entrepreneurs in the network an opportunity to listen to and track the successes and lessons learned of others who traversed similar journeys. The Expert Talks are conversational sessions delivered virtually and are open and free of charge to all persons between the ages of 18 – 35.
